Timmins RCIP-FCIP 2025

Timmins has been selected as one of 18 communities across Canada to participate in both the Rural Community Immigration Pilot (RCIP) and the Francophone Community Immigration Pilot (FCIP). These programs offer new pathways to permanent residence for skilled workers who want to live and work in rural and smaller communities.

The Timmins pilots are spearheaded by the Timmins Economic Development Corporation (TEDC) in collaboration with numerous community partners.

Note: Both programs specifically exclude dispatchers employed with taxi companies (NOC 14404) and taxi and limousine drivers and chauffeurs (NOC 75200) from the Trades and Transport sector.

2025 Intake Periods for Timmins

Applications for community recommendations can only be submitted during set intake periods. The 2025 intake windows are as follows:

  • April 27 to May 3
  • May 25 to May 31
  • June 22 to June 28
  • July 27 to August 2
  • August 24 to August 30
  • September 21 to September 27
  • October 26 to November 1
  • November 23 to November 29

Eligibility Requirements

For Applicants

  • Full-time, permanent job offer from an approved employer in Timmins
  • Meet the required Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) for the job
  • Relevant education and/or work experience
  • Proof of intent to reside in Timmins long-term
  • Obtain a community recommendation from the Timmins RNIP Committee

For Employers

  • Operate within the designated geographic boundaries (Calstock to the Quebec border, south to Temiskaming Shores, west to Foleyet)
  • Active and operating continuously for at least two years
  • Conduct business in one of the five priority sectors
  • Complete mandatory IRCC onboarding and intercultural competency training
